Hardscaping

Hardscaping refers to the elements within a landscape that add structure and dimension. The elements can change the shape, elevation, and characteristics of the land area before adding other elements such as softscaping. Hardscaping includes structures such as: walkways, driveways, steps, patios, and walls. A good rule of thumb to identify hardscaping are the nonliving objects that make up the foundation of a landscape.
Installation
Plants & Pavers specializes in hardscaping installation. In Delaware, we have helped many homeowners bring their ideas and designs to life. Our goal is to build a hardscape that looks great from the time the project is built and years later.
Our Process

When beginning, our goal is to fully understand what the homeowner is looking to have created.
Grass and debris, that might change the level of the pavers with time, are removed. The ground is then compacted to ensure a level area.

Crush and run stone is added to build a solid base and to help prevent erosion from under the paver wall or walkway.

When footers are needed, such as in step installation, the blocks are set in concrete.

Higher areas are filled with concrete and leveled.

Once the framework is complete, pavers are laid to give lasting beauty.

Why choose
plants & pavers

An example of our quality can be seen years later. The images below show two decorative walls built in 2010. The first is a competitor's wall built with minimal foundation work. The second wall, built by Plants & Pavers, was constructed with our process. Our work stands the test of time.
